Comparison of Modified Johnson–Cook Model and Strain–Compensated Arrhenius Constitutive Model for 5CrNiMoV Steel during Compression around Austenitic Temperature

Isothermal compression behaviors of 5CrNiMoV steel were studied at temperatures 870, 800, 750, and 700 °C, with strain rates 0.001, 0.005, 0.01, 0.05, 0.1 s−1, the 870 800 °C are above Ac3, as well 750 below Ac3 temperature. The Modified Johnson–Cook (MJC) model Strain–Compensated Arrhenius (SCA) employed to demonstrate relationship between flow stress parameters. correlation coefficient (R) average absolute relative error (AARE) calculational experimental used evaluate accuracy two models. results show that effect dynamic softening on is much more significant higher lower rates, while this not obvious when rate exceeds 0.005 s−1 temperature Ac3. MJC has a good close reference conditions (0.001 °C), it suitable predict plastic behavior than 200 Mpa. unbiased AARE values 6.82 5.71 for SCA model, respectively, which implied model. was believed be capable being illustrate thermomechanical tool in wide range deformation conditions.
